I just wanted to give a quick update on the times and places of the weekend. Please note that I have added an event on Saturday. Looking at the schedule, I thought that there was a huge gap in the Saturday schedule, so I added a cheap and easy event, a cook out from 1-4.

Here is a quick rundown of the weekend:

Friday

Noon-Lunch at Miller
1 p.m. Golf Scramble
7 p.m. -1 a.m. House Reception

Saturday

10 a.m. Initiation ceremony for Spring Pledge Class Wrather Auditorium
12 p.m. Group Photo Lovett Auditorium
1 p.m. Second Scramble at Miller Golf Course
12:30-3 p.m. Grill Out and greet at the house (for those not playing in the Saturday scramble)
6-7:30 Alumni Dinner and Recognition Ceremony Thunder Holler
7:30-???? Open Reception

Directions to Thunder Holler (from the Sig house)
-Take 94 West towards Lynn Grove (past the ATO house) for 3.4 miles
-Turn right onto Old Lynn Grove Road
(there is a white house two story house on the corner, if you make it to the service station in Lynn Grove, you have gone to far)
-Follow Old Lynn Grove Road for about half a mile and turn left at Thunder Holler. There are signs posted.

The official address for Thunder Holler is 2099 Old Lynn Grove Road, Murray KY 42071

Can't wait to see everyone!!!

Greetings Brothers,

As the 50th approaches, here is an update on events, times and places for the 50th. Please note, that due to the tremendous amount of support and interest we have received, we have changed the format of some of the events. I will list the updates, followed by the updated list of events.

Updates:

Due to increased interest, the format on the golf tournament has changed. Due to the amount of brothers that are wanting to play golf, we are going to have two seperate scrambles. One on Friday and one on Saturday following the Ritual Ceremony. If you wish to play, the final date to sign up is March 15th. We will not be able to schedule anymore teams past that date.

Our seating capacity for the dinner is 300. We invite everyone to bring their spouses or dates. However, we want everyone to be able to particpate in the dinner reception. Therefore, the dinner portion of the reception will be from 6-7:30, which will give us time to make the presentations to the DA's and Alpha Class, and to receive recognition from the University. At 7:30 we will open the doors to everyone who wants to attend. We do not have a way of tracking dinner reservations, so we will leave the dinner seating on a first come basis. We will try to seat as many people as possible, but again our seating capacity is 300 people.

Here is the list of events:

Friday April 24th

1 p.m. Golf Scramble at Miller Golf Course
4-man scramble, cost is $25, paid at the course

7 p.m. Welcoming Reception at the Sigma Chi House
103 North 14th Street, Murray KY 42071
(cocktails and refreshments provided)

8 p.m. Ritualistic House Dedication Ceremony

Saturday, April 25th

9 a.m. Ritualistic preperation, Wrather Museum Auditorium
(only for members performing in the interpretation)

10 a.m. Ritualistic Interpretation, Wrather Museum Auditorium
Sigma Chi's only

1 p.m. Second Round Sigma Chi Golf Scramble
Same format and costs-overall winner will be announced at dinner

6-7:30 50th Anniversary Dinner and Honors Ceremony
Thunder Holler Reception Hall
Seating available for Sigs and dates
Seating available for first 300 people

7:30-?? Open Reception
Cash Bar, beer $1, mixed drinks $2.50
if we have any funds left over, we will buy what we can from the bar

Brothers,

I hope all is well and everyone had a great holiday season. I apologize for the lack of information, but after a fried computer that had to be replaced and a financial firestorm that hit the industry I work in (I am a Financial Center Leader for BB&T Bank) I think we have some things we can finalize for our 50th Anniversary Celebration.

Here is the updated and hopefully final list of events

Friday April 24th

ET 50th Anniversary Golf Outing and Luncheon
1:00 p.m. Miller Golf Course, Murray KY
-We have reserved tee times for 15 teams
-The format will be 15 teams of 4-man scramble, best ball
-Lunch will be provided
-Prizes will be given for the first place team
-The cost is $25 per person/$100 team
you can reserve your team by emailing at mikemax23@hotmail.com or by making reservations at www.murraysigalumni.com The link will be up before the end of the week. This is a first come first serve event, so please get your teams ready and let me know as soon as you can. You can also pre-pay on our www.murraysigalumni.com page by clicking on the donate here button and earmarking your donation for the golf scramble.

Friday night 7 p.m.
-Welcome reception and cocktails at the Sigma Chi House, 103 N. 14th Street, Murray KY
-Ritualistic House Dedication ceremony to take place at 8 p.m. (one of the few public ritual ceremonies our Ritual allows)

Saturday April 25th

10 a.m- Wrather Museum Auditorium
"Special Ritual Presentation" (please email me privately for details)

6 p.m.
50th Anniversary Dinner
Thunder Holler Events Center
Murray KY
-The Thunder Holler Events Center is one of only a few event centers in Murray that will allow drinks to be served
-Event includes a special presentation for the surviving members of the DA Fraternity who founded Epsilon Tau
-Special Recognition by Murray State University
-Special presentation-a look at the history of ET
-dinner is being catered by J. Edwards of Murray KY

Rooms are available at the Days Inn and Hampton Inn in Murray. I have also been notified that rooms are available at the Best Western of Murray. There is another big event at the RSEC that weekend, so please reserve your rooms as soon as possible.

Of course Sigma Chi's are nothing without the patient ladies that tempered our "spirit of youth', so please bring your spouses or significant others. The only events that are brothers only is the golf scramble and the special Ritual presentation. We will be sending out mailers at the beginning of February. We are asking to please RSVP by March 15th so we can nail down our catering needs.

We want all alumni to attend, so we are trying to make this really as cheap as we can for our alumni. The chapter and some dedicated alumni are helping to fund this spectacular weekend. However, the more money we have, the better (more drinks) events we can have. So if you feel moved to make a small donation, please visit the www.murraysigalumni.com website and donate through our pay pal link, or you can drop a check in the mail to "Epsilon Tau Alumni Board" c/o Mike Maxwell, 160 Wells Purdom Drive, Almo KY 42020. All funds go directly into the ET Alumni Board account and are earmarked for this special event. Any support you can contribute will be greatly appreciated, and put to use for this event.

I would also like to send a quick thank you out to some great brothers who have been helping me plan this event. Of special consideration are brothers Jason Farthing, Scott Bridges, Jason Baker, Nathan Higdon, David Clevedence, and Chris Klaas (Consul), Ryan Rohleder (undergrad coordinator) and the rest of the current undergrad chapter.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at my home email address at mikemax23@hotmail.com, at work at mmaxwell@bbandt.com, or by calling me 270-227-3374 cell, 270-873-8137 home, or 270-767-2291 work.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Just a quick update on some of the events for the 50th.

Hotel rooms are now available in Murray. We have reserved 22 rooms at the Days Inn and 10 rooms at the Hampton Inn in Murray. They are booked under Sigma Chi Alumni Association. They are on a first come, first serve basis. 12 of the rooms at the Days Inn are queen bed double rooms so if anyone wants to share a room, those are available. The Hampton also has 12 studio rooms available as of this morning. Those rooms are not a part of the block of rooms that we have set aside but may be available if booked individually.

The weekend is going to be great. Here is a quick rundown of what we have planned so far.

Friday April 24th:

1 p.m. Alumni Golf Scramble and lunch at Miller Golf Course
4 man scramble (may be extended to 6 man depending
on turnout), shotgun start. Team registrations will be
available shortly on our website, www.murraysigalumni.com

6-9 p.m. Epsilon Tau celebration dinner at the Racer Room in the
Regional Special Events Center. Murray State will be
making a special presentation. Other highlights will include
a special dedication to the original DA's and a presentation by
some of the Grand Officers from our national headquarters.
There will also be a silent auction of Sigma Chi memorabilia
and other items donated by our alumni.

Saturday April 25th

Murray Mayor Tom Rushing, a former DA and a member of the Alpha pledge class of ET has proclaimed April 25th as Sigma Chi Day by the city of Murray in recognition.

9-11 a.m. A special Ritual presentation will be presented by the
undergraduate chapter, more private details will be
released later.

12-1 p.m. Ritualistic House Dedication Ceremony (public Ritual)

Coctails will be available both Friday and Saturday night at the chapter house.

More events and details will be added as the planning goes along. We are partnering with the Murray State Alumni Association so you will also be receiving updates from Murray State as well. Please tell everyone who is a Sig about this event and about this site so that we can touch base with all the Sigs from Epsilon Tau.

This event will entail an enormous amount of planning and a little bit of money, so I cannot stress to everyone how important it is to RSVP so that we will have enough resources to celebrate this important part of our history. If you would like to donate a couple of bucks to the effort, that would also be greatly appreciated. Our website, www.murraysigalumni.com has a link for making donations. All proceeds collected from the site are specifically allocated for this celebration, so any donation you could make would be greatly appreciated.

The Racer Room can accomodate 200-250 people, so please RSVP so that we can look for other accomodations if necessary.

Please let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

This is going to be huge. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly. This will be the greatest celebration in ET's history. Events we are looking at include a huge golf scramble with cocktails and breakfast, a nice formal dinner and cocktail party, and a dedication ceremony from our Grand Officers from the National Fraternity. Please give us feedback on what you would like to see at the celebration.
